This was a gift given to the wife's parents and they seem mroe than happy with this TV. Great price and good Amazon service. LG TV arrived and performed as expected.
The LCD has a great picture, sound, and looks fantastic mounted on our bedroom wall. After comparing LCD TVs at several stores and reading internet reviews on many LCD manufactures within the same price range, screen size, and specs, I decided on the LG 37LG30 and ordered for the first time through Amazon.com. But for certain, put the LG 37LG30 on your list for consideration. Because LCD's picture, sound, and cabinet looks are in the eyes of the buyer, take some time to view a variety of LCDs before buying. I was not disappointed. The TV was delivered within the estimated time frame undamaged.
And I tell people that randomly in conversation. If you want a great TV at a truly decent price, this is that TV. I love it. Great TV.I read lots of reviews and poured over this decision for a long time, and finally decided on this one because user reviews were so high and the price was so low. I also chose this because the sound is supposed to be better than comparable LCDs (Samsung), and I don't currently have a surround sound set up.I watch a LOT of TV and movies--but I don't have a ton of money--and so I wanted a LCD HDTV that would be a joy and a pleasure, one that would be a sure upgrade from a 27" Sony tube TV I had been using for the past 4 years, but one that would not break my small bank. This TV seemed like the best for that set of criteria and it has definitely met my expectations.
The inputs and outputs are more than adequate with 3 HDMI, 2 component ect. There is a 5 second wait to power on once you press the power button. Lastly, for the price range you can't go wrong, with all the inputs, the customization options and the refresh rate is 5ms. Now for the picture. I have not used it as a computer monitor and likely never will. The remote is fine aesthetically and it is simple.
Oh yeah, one more thing, there is no noise what-so-ever when the TV is on except for the sounds you should hear. First off, let me tell you that I did weeks of research when I decided to purchase a new TV. My viewing distance is approximately 10 feet so I decided to get a 37 inch versus a 32 inch. You can really fine tune this thing.
The picture settings (color) can be easily adjusted with presets or you can get super-customized if you wish. Most of my TV watching is through a cable box with HD capabilities. There are no visible speakers because they are cut under and behind the set. Love it so far.
I run my sound through a Bose 3-2-1 system so I do not need to tolerate any sound impurity. Standard definition on this set looks fine. The sound is stragely ambient and is slightly dull. Good choice although it took a few days for my brain to accomadate all that stimulation since I used to watch a 27 inch CRT.
The sound is cool because the voice technology is very evident. However, the High Definition looks spectacular as well as DVD's. Assembly of the base was super simple so I don't know how others that reviewed this TV interpreted the instructions. Some channels worse than others but overall tolerable and the difference eventually goes unnoticed.
Set up simple1st time purchase of an LG product.high quality and good professional classy finish. Excellent quality, good picture, contrast and colour.Sharp images and easy to use remote control.
